Cloudflare's Clef for typed decisions about text on a 16 GB GPU, or about images on a larger one. It answers typed questions with a probability for each answer, in one pass. This is a decision model: send typed questions to llama-server's `/v1/systemone` endpoint, not to chat. Needs llama.cpp from 9 October 2026 or newer. Tested at commit `1e6f04a`, and every file also on release `b11572` (12 October 2026), which gave identical answers on a 100-decision check. Tested on an Apple M3 Max (36 GB) with llama.cpp Metal (`b11617`): every file here loads and answers with the command above.

Cloudflare's Clef-Flash for typed decisions about text or images on a CPU or a small GPU. It answers typed questions with a probability for each answer, in one pass. This is a decision model: send typed questions to llama-server's `/v1/systemone` endpoint, not to chat. Needs llama.cpp from 9 October 2026 or newer. Tested at commit `1e6f04a`, and the Artemis IQ4_XS and Artemis IQ3_XXS files also on release `b11572` (12 October 2026), which gave identical answers on a 100-decision check. Tested on an Apple M3 Max (36 GB) with llama.cpp Metal (`b11617`): every file here loads and answers with the command above.

Google's Gemma 4 E2B for chat and tool calling on a CPU, from Google's quantization-aware (QAT) checkpoint. A chat model for llama.cpp's server with the chat template stored in the file; tested with llama.cpp b11617, and with b11889 for the vision projector and the MTP drafter. `-hf` also downloads the projector and loads it; add `--no-mmproj` for text only, which skips the 987 MB download. Tested on an Apple M3 Max (36 GB) with llama.cpp Metal (`b11617`): loads and answers with the command above; about 115 tokens/s generation with the Q3_K_L file.

Selection guide & FAQ
How should API prices be compared?+

Separate input, output and cache rates, then estimate the same workload. Image, audio and video rates may use items, duration or resolution rather than tokens.

Do open weights mean free commercial use?+

Not necessarily. Check each version’s license, commercial restrictions and policies. Self-hosting also incurs compute and maintenance costs.

Is the top-ranked model the best for me?+

Rankings depend on tasks, versions and methods. Compare accuracy, latency, reliability and costs on your own workload.
