We introduce two new state-of-the-art models for local intelligence, on-device computing, and at-the-edge use cases. We call them les Ministraux: Ministral 3B and Ministral 8B. The Ministral-8B-Instruct-2410 Language Model is an instruct fine-tuned model significantly outperforming existing models of similar size, released under the Mistral Research License. If you are interested in using Ministral-3B or Ministral-8B commercially, outperforming Mistral-7B, reach out to us.

From our family of large models, **Mistral Large 3** is a state-of-the-art general-purpose **Multimodal granular Mixture-of-Experts** model with **41B active parameters** and **675B total parameters** trained from the ground up with 3000 H200s. This model is the instruct post-trained version, fine-tuned for instruction tasks, making it ideal for chat, agentic and instruction based use cases. Designed for reliability and long-context comprehension - It is engineered for production-grade assistants, retrieval-augmented systems, scientific workloads, and complex enterprise workflows. > [!Tip] > **[Update 09 September 2026]** Weights have been recalibrated and updated. Huge thanks to the NVIDIA team and in particular Dimitrios Bariamis as this should lead to similar long-context performance as original Mistral-Large-3.

Mistral-Large-Instruct-2411 is an advanced dense Large Language Model (LLM) of 123B parameters with state-of-the-art reasoning, knowledge and coding capabilities extending Mistral-Large-Instruct-2407 with better Long Context, Function Calling and System Prompt. We appreciate the feedback received from our community regarding our system prompt handling. In response, we have implemented stronger support for system prompts. To achieve optimal results, we recommend always including a system prompt that clearly outlines the bot's purpose, even if it is minimal. We recommend using this model with the vLLM library to implement production-ready inference pipelines.

Selection guide & FAQ
How should API prices be compared?+

Separate input, output and cache rates, then estimate the same workload. Image, audio and video rates may use items, duration or resolution rather than tokens.

Do open weights mean free commercial use?+

Not necessarily. Check each version’s license, commercial restrictions and policies. Self-hosting also incurs compute and maintenance costs.

Is the top-ranked model the best for me?+

Rankings depend on tasks, versions and methods. Compare accuracy, latency, reliability and costs on your own workload.
